Maxima Maytag Washer Door Locked

Our maytag maxima steam washer has a flashing yellow light next to door locked the door won t open and the machined cannot be turned on.

Is there anything that i can do to clear the codes and unlock the front load door. The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Nothing else will appear to be happening with the machine during this time. The door should unlock after 60 seconds.

Unplug the washer then pull the top panel of the washer straight back up and off. What happened just before your maytag washer displayed this message. The door should unlock after this is complete. Now you can reach down in from below the top of the machine down to the door latch.

Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. Press the power button and the washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes during which time the pump will run continuously.
